David is a Chartered Accountant with a degree in Hotel and Catering Management. Other than three years accountancy training with Ernst & Young and a year with Alan Sugar’s Amstrad plc, he has always worked in the hotel sector. He spent a significant portion of his early career with Queens Moat Houses plc, undertaking a number of senior finance roles including Group Chief Accountant, Head of Risk Assurance Services and Finance Director for their Dutch subsidiary, Bilderberg Hotels and Restaurants.
He left The Netherlands in 2005, returning to Glasgow to work for the Taylor family and take up the position of Finance Director for Chardon Management Limited. As part of a small management team he helped grow the independent hotel management company from four hotels to circa 50, before successfully selling the company to Interstate Hotels & Resort. David then spent five years with Interstate before returning to work for the Taylors when their management agreement with Interstate came to an end.
